Community Bridge
Scott was one of three "Founding Fathers" of The Community (along with Erwan Davon from Beyond Education and Jerry Candelaria from the Arete Center for Excellence).
The Community began in roughly 1991 and consists of hundreds of people in the Bay Area who are interconnected by email lists, intentional gatherings, courses and other events and networks.
For many years Scott bridged people together by organizing intentional events that led to the development and emergence of The Community, which eventually either birthed or contributed to the birth of communities such as Arete, Rhythm Society and other overlapping communities.
He has taken over 50 transformational courses with organizationis such as Landmark Education, The Arete Center for Excellence, The Spirit of Life Institute, Vipassana meditation retreats, and many others.
He has provided a bridge for hundreds of people to do transformational courses that matched the need for the next area of their transformation.
Scott does personal life coaching using the metaphor of Fractals to develop a sense of "flow" in different aspects of individual's lives, from cognitive learning to getting into colleges and graduate programs, to developing emotional intelligence, to having more fun in relationships to connecting with that sense of awe, wisdom, and inspiration associated with the expression and exclamation "Of Course!"
Networking Bridge
The Fractal Bridge Institute sponsors and organizes "Fractal Bridge Gatherings" that have the multiple purposes of learning about education and/or related topics, networking with educators and/or people in related fields, and having a fun, entertaining experience!
On December 12, 2004, Scott put on the "Fractal Bridge Transformative Education Gathering" in San Francisco.
About 50 remarkable educators gathered together for 5 hours to enjoy great food, listen to excellent music, and listen to 15 presenters share their knowledge of transformative education and learning.
The event was professionally filmed and is available to view at the Fractal Bridge Institute or to purchase on VHS.
Join the Fractal Bridge Institute mailing list by sending an email to hannonscott@yahoo.com and to find out how to apply to be invited to the next networking gathering.
Coming soon: a one hour condensed video version of the last Fractal Bridge Gathering available for viewing from this page!
Fractal Salon Gatherings
Once every two weeks I organize a Fractal Salon Gathering in my home. Between 10 and 16 people enjoy a potluck dinner at about 6pm and by 7:30pm we assemble together in a circle on couches and comfortable chairs.
I explain the principles of a Fractal Salon and ask that people keep them in mind. After we cover logistics I explain that we will be having a discussion about many topics such as the arts, the creative process, and the nature of relationship and life. I ask that we, together, strive to stay more and more in the moment in our communications.
As we collectively strive to stay present, the group conversation will follow a unique path, comparable with a Fractal's path, that will usually bring us to a point of relatedness and connectedness with each other, appreciation and gratefulness for each other and our lives, and often an experience of awe and wonder. The experience of traveling along this Fractal path together is deeply moving and rewarding.
