Discipline Bridge

Bridging the educational disciplines (or subjects) of mathematics, science, history, language, literature, and the arts. Designing curriculum that reveals the process themes and design principles at the essence of all disciplines. When students and teachers learn these process themes they more easily make connections to all disciplines, their understanding of the "big picture" increases, and they meet with higher academic performance. At more advanced levels, writings by Ken Wilbur (A Brief History of Everything) are related to such "unifying theories."

So often we read or hear that all the subject are interconnected, that there are bridges between the disciplines/subjects.

But how?

Here is an example of part of my interdisciplinary curriculum that shows one paragraph on how this interconnection is demonstrated:

Just as the prevailing winds are caused by planetary spin, so the swirling currents of history have definite courses and times, guided by the great movements of the Earth, and governed by the nature of number and geometry, on which all things are built. It is popular to claim that "History repeats itself." Rather, it seems in some sense that History "rhymes!"

Teacher training and in-service workshops on interdisciplinary studies and emotional intelligence are available for all kinds of educators.
