Fractal Weekend: The Of Course

We have all uttered the exclamation "Of Course!" and meant "Aha, I get it!"

A river or gust of wind has a "course." We have all wondered what course we are on in life.

We have asked a variation of the question "What, ultimately, are we of?" in the sense of wondering what is at the essence/DNA/core of a being human.

A similar but more unusual question that brings both together is "What course in life are we of?"

Any such inquiry requires the investigation of all of the disciplines, including Math, Science, Astronomy, Philosophy, History, Literature, Language, the Arts and Spirituality.

Math gives us a language to speak about patterns in life and is fundamental to Science. Scientific inquiry led to discovering and understandings about the cosmos and advances in Astronomy. The formation of the cosmos is, in it's own right, a 15 billion-year History, and humans showed up in the last million years of that history. Very recent History has seen the invention of writing and a human language that attempts to express the human condition, which has accompanied many forms of artistic and spiritual expressions. Connected to these disciplines are Psychology, Sociology, Political Science, Economics and many other disciplines. We learn that Math is fundamental to Music, that Music depends of lyricism, that poetry sometime rhymes, and that History not only repeats itself but also rhymes, too! We learn that there are chains that make up DNA, that words can be chained together to form sentences, and that bits and bytes are analagous to the chains of computer language. We learn that pendulums show up in Math series, demonstrate gravity in Science, who the process of mediation in the Social Sciences, and relate to finding a "balanced verse."

It becomes clear in the Of Course that all subjects overlap and share an underlying essence! We learn that they are bridged together by the useful metaphor of The Fractal Bridge.

The Of Course is done in a fun and entertaining way, with processes that are very engaging and viewing of film segements from some of the most awe-inspiring, most poignant, and most educational films ever made.

The Of Course is "Edu-tainment" and can be adapted to reveal this metaphor of the Fractal to students, teachers, administrators and/or business employees and managers.
